This seemed so hard at the beginning 3 months ago

but now it’s so easy. And when I eat badly one part of the day or for a whole day I don’t let it put me off course. I get right back to eating healthfully even if I’ve scarfed down way too many Skittles. I accept that I ate too much sugar and move on.

each day starts out well, then later degenerates- from laziness, from stress (emotional eating), from drinking with friends….whatever. have to find a reasonable balance….

We’ve been eating out a lot less frequently since I finished school (since I love to cook and have more time to do so), and it feels great. Sometimes I get tired or feel unmotivated, but we’re really eating much healthier food at home, and it’s way cheaper, too.

This will be a life long ongoing goal.

I eat too many sweets, especially being pregnant. This is something that is important to me though, being healthy and consious of what goes into my body. Some days are better than others and some days I’m lazy and eat processed american diet or fast food.

The last time I went to the doctor I had high cholesterol, so I have to get it back in a reasonable range by April, when I’ll have my follow-up appointment.

If I can manage it on my own, by eating less cholesterol and saturated fat, eating more whole grains and vegetables, and getting more aerobic exercise regularly, I should be able to avoid getting on stupid cholesterol medication. I desperately want to avoid that!

I have gained 11 pounds already in 4 months of pregnancy. I think that is a bit extreme except for the fact that I was a bit underweight before. When I went in for my first appt. I weighed only 114. I was not eating properly and would often work the entire 10 hour shift and just drink coffee perhaps some milk and a little something. Now I have a pretty good appetitie. I don’t overeat but I do make sure to nourish myself. I do have a sweet tooth but I have tried to buy sugar free cookies, fruit and things like that for snacking (along with some junk food).
