Lanie trying hard to CTR!

Finally starting on this 6 months ago

I started this morning. I am going to try and read a bit every morning even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Today I read the title page, introduction page and the page title a Brief Explanation of the Book of Mormon – The Book of Mormon is a sacred record of peoples in ancient America, and was engraved upon sheets of metal.

I don’t know how many times I’ve read it, but I would like to have it re-read by the end of 2009.

oh no 2 years ago

we were challenged by the mission president to read 20 pages of BOM everyday starting this august.

i usually read three chapters only as i read the BOM student manual and the BOM seminary book at the same time. i’m studying it in depth as i am planning to go on a mission after i finish my college degree.

so now i have to read 20 pages of BOM, plus my nursing books. someone pray for me.

btw new convert here, this round’ll be my second time to read BOM.

listening to it in the car 2 years ago

I’ve sort of moved away from reading it, but I’ve got the cd’s on in my car all the time. I love hearing it. I listen to certain chapters over and over…like King Benjamin’s address.

I love him so much I named my first son after him!

Rome's paintings drew me in and made me want to immerse myself in it again. 2 years ago

Soon after we arrived in the Hill Cumorah Visitor’s Center, the three jpeople I was with left to get food for their lunch from the grocery store. Meanwhile I stayed in the visitor’s center. I borrowed a copy of the book of Mormon from them. They have plastic covers on them and have their other things in there too, like photos and scritgpures and such.

Anyway, the room was filled with beautiful paintings by Rome. I took photos of them all. I also read the names of the paintings and the scripture references along with the while I looked at and studied all the paintings and the scriptures that go with them.

It was a very uplifting experience. I just couldn’t get enough of the Book of Mormon.

Here they are.

1. They saw the Heavens Open 3 Ne 17:24
2. One by One 3 Ne 11:15
3. Behold the lamb of God 1 Nephi 11:20-21
4. His Father Rejoiced Mosiah 27, 20
5. I even remain alone Mormon 8:3
6. Their joy was full 1 Ne 5:7
7. in the service of your God Mosiah 2:17
8. Marvelous were the prophecies of ether Ether 13:13
9. They put their trust in God Alma 57:27
10. She had supposed we had perished 1 Ne 5:1-2
11. He did bring glad tidings to my soul Helaman 13:7
12 Alma Arise Mosiah 27:13
13 Come into the fold of God Mosiah 18:8.

I put the book of mormon on my iPod 2 years ago

I figured I could listen to it from time to time.

So I went through the chapters I added and I rated them. Now I can listen to the ones that I get something out of…it’ll jump start my spirituality, or at least my reading.

what’s wrong with just reading? Satan doesn’t want me to read or to pray. I think he’s winning.

What a horrible thought!

Lists of Bests 3 years ago

I just used Lists of Bests to make a list of the books in the Book of Mormon so I can check them off as I complete them.
