I have a business idea (selling T-shirts off the web), but I’m apprehensive if I can make it real. I’m afraid I will be hindered by my youth, especially since I live in an Asian society, where culturally people do not trust twenty-somethings to know what they’re doing. Also I’m not sure if I need to read up on accounting, marketing, management, and so on, and how much I need to know. Plus I’m going off to college in 10 months. I might put this on hold until after I get my degree.

How to start a business"easy, if you know what you want to do"
How I did it: I decided to start my business last year after making and giving away many scrapbooks. I thought that rather than spend tons of money and time on things that I give away, I should be making some money from my hobby. So now the next step is to actually make some money. I've started, but I don't know what to do next. Help! Resources: I built my website using www.homestead.com and started a newsletter using www.mailchimp.com.

How I did it: I was internally driven to make money so I didn't have to go to work anymore and so I sat down with a book on HTML (this was in 1997) and went from the first page to the last page until I knew it. Then, I started a website on something I knew something about, and eventually, the money came in. It's really that easy. Read how I did it…

How I did it: It wasn't a choice, my husband lost his job and was forced to work in order to pay the bils...next thing you know, we have a business. Some days it's great, some days it's stressful. Some days you work all the time, some days you don't work at all, and then regret later that you didn't work. Some times it's hard to stay motivated. Some times it's hard to quit working. It's the best and worst of both worlds, but hopefully in the long run i… Read how I did it…

wildflowermom is going to work soon
I have gotten very far in the planning aspect but have decided to put the project off for a little while. Too much stress at home now for me to take the leap.
My motivation factor is very high right now, and I have kicked it into high gear. I’m examining a couple business ideas that leverage my current skill set. I imagine I will continue to work my current job until I’m comfortable with making with switch full time.
Next Steps:
-Market Research
-Create a Business Plan
-Determine minimum funding for startup

I’m actually on my 3rd business right now. I absolutely love the thrill and excitement of creating a product or service that people love and then implementing the systems/processes to make the business work. It’s challenging and tiring, but I love it!
I want to be a guy who develops outstanding games with my friends and tell other people a lot through the stories which I’ll tell in my games.
I will use neuroscience to get the most out of the gameplay.
I have had a deep desire to start a business for the last 5 years. Work is okay, however I’ve always had a resentment for management and the decisions they make. My chief motivators for starting a business:
1. Ownership. Ability to make important decisions and have ownership of those results.
2. Money. I don’t care too much about recognition, but would like to be well compensated for being able to do my job well.
3. Risk taking. I enjoy the excitement and adrenaline rush. It keeps my mind sharp and spirits high. The thought of working 9-5 for the rest of my life is not appealing at all.
4. Greatness. Be able to make a difference in the world. Right now I’m just a small cog in the corporate machine.
