Have a gallery exhibition

My goal is to have 2 showings next year in 2008. Anywhere and even if it’s just 1 piece of artwork, I would be happy. I just have to get some paintings together and pound the pavement.

I need to get a whole set of artwork ready, I could do with photography but since that is so typical of me I’d rather go with paintings and drawings. I’m thinking I should get in touch with some restaurant or cafe that might want to hang them. That’s good enough for me. They don’t have to pay or anything, noone needs to buy one. As long as they hang on a wall that isn’t mine basically and where other people can see them I’m glad. As soon as I have a collection finished. I sort of do already though, but only a really small one. Still maybe I should look into that and give it a go. It’s eight or so drawings, I think they’re kinda cool. Damn it I am gonna give that a go! Shut up!!! :) Get back later with info.

I’ve got one coming up – in September, in Tiverton Museum in the the town of Tiverton, Devon, UK.

There is a huge gallery filled with old carts and hay wains. I’m going to fill it with hundreds of butterflies.

It was busy, and we had a newspaper photographer, and free food and drink which is never a bad thing. But after about 20 minutes I left.
If I have another, I’ll organise it. There’ll be champagne and more room. Music and some god damn seats!

In the post today came the flyers. It feels excellent to see one of my photos on the front of it.
It’s a month long, 22nd March – 22nd April, 2007. Starbucks, 125 Colmore Row, Birmingham. A step in the right direction for me.

I really wish I could upload the flyer, but my scanner seems to have gone walkies.

I heard from them today. They wanted my permission to use a one of my photos on the front cover of the invitation. Kerazy.

I think the date’s 22nd March. I really need to write stuff down…

I fecked this up.
I don’t know how, but I’ve lost one of my best prints. Arggh.
I’ve got to send 5 images to be enlarged and I have lost the main one. I am such an ass. Arghh.

Actually I want an agent to represent me…

Last summer I went to see a photo exhibit that one of my mothers friend’s had on display in a restaurant/ banquet facility. We stumbled across a gallery on the 2nd level of the building. We went in and they were setting up for a show that would take place in less than a week. After looking at some of the work I thought some of my poetry would fit in with the paintings, drawings and various other pieces. I called the owner and talked about my poetry, she asked me to bring in 4 poems on transparecies. I had them ready in a day. She was as delighted as I was to include my work in the exhibition. It was the start of something great! A path I never dreamed of walking. It just happened “out of the blue.”
