I am instead thinking about a point and shoot digital camera, with the following characteristics:
About 150 pounds
Small and robust
>5 Megalixels
High quality optics
down to a 28mm lense (35mm equiv)
manual override exposure options
self timer
Maybe I am being too fussy with the manual over-ride requirement, but I think it is nice.
Or, at least, would be nice to see the exposure parameters.
Current options
coolpix 5000
olympus sp30
leica c-lux
leica dlux
leica digilux

OK, so I am too poor, far too poor for a Leica. Instead I will consider another camera, particularly one that I can carry around with me easily, since I often see things when out and about and think:
“I wish I had a camera right now”
Perhaps something like an Olympus XA (With or without the flash)
Or, another similarly small and cheap camera.
Ideas?

One tool I would like is a Leica Digital Camera. Since I seem to take quite a few photograps and I know about taking them, I think that something of quality is important: The analogue digital camera as the marketing people at Leica call it. My guess is that I will not afford it until somewhere far into 2006 or even 2007.
