Can kill 3 things in one go here. To start a journal, build a web-site and learn Ruby
How to build my own web site
How I did it: Trial and error and a host site whose tools were invalueable. It didn't take the whole 3 months to actually build the web site, but rather to fine-tune it to where I dared to post it!
Lessons & tips: Read and research what makes one site better than another. Decide exactly what purpose you want your site to serve, and name it appropirately. Make sure it isn't cluttered or too slow to load. Also check to make sure all links you provide are working links.
