Actually, I have showered in much bigger falls (like Yosemite) in the past, but always for 43Things it has to be something new, so here I am at Sai Yok national park in Thailand washing up in Sai Yok waterfall. My vacations never have a dull moment, do they? 4 months ago

How I did it: There were four of us on this trip to Koh Samui, 2 Yanks, 1 Japanese, and 1 Brit. After hanging around the beach and enjoying the village of Chaweng for a couple of days, we decided to rent a jeep and do some exploring. Since they drive on the left here, we thought it best that the Brit be our designated driver. There's a road going around the island, and there are many beautiful uninhabited beaches to enjoy. The island is pretty big and also has a nice interior with mountains, valleys, and jungles, but not a lot of inner roads. Our guide book mentioned a waterfall that sounded interesting. We found the sign for the turnoff and headed in. The little road seemed like something out of Alice in Wonderland. It was just one lane and curved often as it went up and down through a lush jungle of coconut trees and pretty colored flowers (Or maybe it was just the mood we were in). Finally we came to a sign that pointed to a trail leading to the waterfall. It was maybe another 30 minutes walking through the dense jungle on the little dirt trail, but when we got to the river, we could see it. There were a few other people there enjoying a shower, but I wanted a shot of just me, so we waited till they left, then each of us had his picture taken under the fall. I was a bit shocked at how cold it was at first. This is a very hot island, and the ocean water is warm, but this waterfall is mountain water, so much colder. Anyway, we all really had a great time showering and splashing in the pools below. After about an hour we packed it in and headed back to Chaweng for a fantastic seafood dinner backed by many bottles of Singha Read how I did it… 4 months ago

Stayed in a yurt in Hana, and our shower was outdoors, so it felt like a waterfall. 7 months ago
