to the cafe with me the other day, sat on the cafe’s patio the sun beaming down on me and the colors coming out on the page, amazing. Total focus and flow for about 2 hrs, felt rested and refreshed. Try it. just a five minutes to start, that’s what I did. 14 months ago

I’d forgotten just what lovely messy fun pastels were :)
I wouldn’t look at this and say it’s my ‘style’, which is weird. But it’s also not half as terrible as I thought it was going to be!

Didn’t think I’d be dragging out the acrylics any time soon, and the gloopiness of the white did make this harder than it had to be. Still: my first attempt at some nail art – and it was fun!

How I did it: I've always found it hard to just pick up a pen and create something, but after a few instances of practically forcing myself to take the first step, I've learned to let go a little. I still don't draw quite as often as I would like to, but I feel like
I'm no longer held back by my high expectations and self-criticism.
Trying various styles has also helped me to really get my creative juices flowing and I've found that I enjoy creating abstract and psychedelic art the most. Read how I did it… 1 year ago
