I’m not sure I’ll see any ROI at Macquarie Group, as they don’t seem to place a lot of value on IT knowing anything about the business. You’ll notice on all the ITG job postings, ‘finance experience’ is always one line at the bottom, and is not a requirement from the most junior programmer to the ‘enterprise architect’ roles. However, it may be worthwhile if I switch roles, and I certainly think it would help me at many of the US investment banks.

Diploma of Financial Services or Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment in Finsia seems to be the most fit for current situation. Hopefully I’ll start this April or last trisemester.
