DocD is having a rainy day.
Tokyo was my home for many years. Go
Tokyo is awesome, it is a busy place, fun, weird, but if you want to traditional Japan, you want find it in Tokyo.
It is true that Tokyo hasn’t anything with traditional Japan, but it stills amazing. When I was younger, and that I loved Pokémon, Card Captor Sakura, and others Japanese cartoons (Anime), I saw in a magazine that there were something like Disneyland for Pokémon, and we could see on the picture a big Pikachu! I wanted to go there to hold it =) Today my interests are different: I want to go there to walk on Harajuku streets because I admire so much the clothes the girls and boys use there. One of my favourite pastimes is to try to make something like them with the clothes I have, or to draw them inspiring on those they wear. I want to see it in real, I want to talk to the persons who wear them, because I love it very much too, and here in Brazil, we don’t have many people who make FRUiTS, Gothic Lolita, Visual Kei and others. I love Japan in many different points, one day, I will hold that Pikachu, I will buy Putumayo, h.NAOTO, clothes, and I will get CDs and DVDs of Japanese groups.
I loved Japan. I went when I was 16 though. I say Tokyo Disneyland and a lot of exciting temples and pieces of history! go for it.
It’s an amazing city to visit, but don’t expect to find much of “traditional” Japan there. You have to tracel further out for that. It’s draw lies in other areas, however, and you would be hard pressed to take it all in in a year.
