How I did it: On a whim one day my husband and I decided to take my brother-in-law with us to an indoor skating rink. I have never been good at skating but it was fun and I was having a laugh. I was clinging to the wall and skating steadily and slowly, when an equally bad skater ran into me and knocked me down. My feet flew out from under me, and I fell backwards and tried to use my arms to break my fall. The man who ran into me tried to help me up by pulling me up by my injured arm. I screamed in pain and my husband and brother-in-law saw that I was hurt and came over to me. They helped me off the ice and an employee from the rink brought me a bag of ice for my arm. It thought maybe it was just a sprain, but after half an hour of icing my arm the pain was getting worse and worse. I went to the ER and sure enough, my arm was broken above the elbow. At the time my daughter was only 7 months old. I was not allowed to pick her up until my arm was declared healed a couple of months later. Luckily my family members came to stay with us for a while to help us out. Now my arm is fine. I occasionally have stiffness in the elbow but otherwise it functions as always!
In spite of having been injured my first time ice skating, I did enjoy it and would definitely do it again. What happened to me was a freak accident caused by two horribly inexperienced skaters being in the same place at the same time. Read how I did it… 1 week ago

I attended a convention event called Cosplayers on Ice, where I was given the chance to Ice Skate.
Everyone had told me it was so hard and so different and everything… but it wasn’t hard, it was exactly like rollar blading. The one difference was that it was with a blade, rather than wheels.
I was very disappointed and scared the heck to death when I tried to skate. I was skating fine, but the rink was filled with little demon kids. They were pushing people and purposefully running into people’s legs. I got out of there quick, because I didn’t want a kid to push me down and slice my arm off!
I’ll stick to rollarblading. 4 months ago

I’m planning to go today!
Looking forward, there’s not much preventing me from going ice-skating. The main problem would be just not getting around to it. I’m pretty sure I’ll get around to ice skating today. :) 6 months ago
