WakeUpLaughing..! is feeling beautiful today

This was... 13 months ago

...my goal for my 17th year. I think I did it justice, always carrying it with me in my head and my heart.

There were many times throughout the year when I just pulled back from the rush and thought, “Okay, you need to savor this moment. Stop and smell the roses here.”

It’s a part of me now, and I think that it was a great goal for this time in my life.

In just under one month... 15 months ago

...my year of “smelling the roses” will be over!! It’s hard to believe how incredibly fast my seventeenth year went.

Interestingly enough, this month will be the hardest to continue smelling the roses. Soccer and band fill up my life and leaves little time for the little things in life. But I’ve been able to do it thus far, and it will be the perfect test of the habit I’ve tried to create for myself.

Looking back at this past year, it indeed has been the “little things”, the roses, that make me smile. All of the things that truly made my life worth living this past year aren’t the big accomplishments, but the little roses that made it the best year yet!!

This fall... 2 years ago

This fall has been a huge chance for me to “smell the roses”. It was such an incredible fall…the colors were as beautiful as I’ve seen them. The cocoa was warm, the cider was crisp, the sun was bright, and the scenery was impeccable. The kisses were long, the laughter was loud, and the times were great. And it’s not over yet!! Stopping and smelling the roses has already yielded so much for me; it has been so rewarding. What a start to a year! What a beautiful, incredible fall.

=)

“Don’t blink…trust me friend, a hundred years goes faster than you think. Don’t blink.”

I turned 17... 2 years ago

...on Monday. I was thinking about how fast time flies and how every second wasted is a second gone. Therefore, I made a decision.

My seventeenth year is going to be about smelling the roses. On the worst of days, on the best of days, every single time that I can, I’m going to stop and smell the roses. Whether it be taking time to recognize a beautiful sunset or stopping time to enjoy a bubble bath or just taking the split second it takes to give someone a kiss, I’m going to smell the roses this year.

This year will be the best yet, but only because it’s the most recent!

I’m going to STOP. And smell the roses.

=)

this isn’t hard. you’ll feel the scent even from afar. and then you’ll start think about it, and finally stop out of curiosity.
i love roses, they are a treat for the senses; they both taste, smell, look and feel lovely.
i do this as often as i can.

...there was a florist. I used to stop each and every time I was walking to class, even if I was in a hurry, to smell the flowers. I think the owners thought I was a little crazy, but I never cared. My only reget is that I never went in and bought flowers from that little store.
