I'm not completely hooked, but I'm getting there. 3 months ago

The more I run, the more I really notice how I feel the days I don’t run. I’ll admit, there are some days when I’d really just rather stay home. That said, I slacked all weekend and by Monday night I was ready to go! I ran again last night, too. I decided to take today off, but I’ll be back at it tomorrow night. I was pushing for at least three times per week, but now I’m going for four. Right now, I can. Next month, work is going to pick up tremendously, so I’m already trying to figure out a new schedule that allows me to get a run in early morning. The problem—I’m not a morning person at all! I’m going to have to figure something out, though. Next week, I will run at least 2 mornings. I can not let myself use work as an excuse not to get off my butt and reach my goal.

I love the feeling of running when you first start out, I feel so powerful, happy, kinda like I could fly. So I’m on the cross country team at my school, but it’s in the morning, and I hate getting up.(who doesn’t?) Anyway I’m going to go on a less-fried/sugary foods diet(sorta diet, not really though) to keep my energy up high, and I just feel better when I haven’t had anything too sugary in the last few days. But it’s almost impossible for me to eat apples, so it’s gonna be a weird group of foods, lol. Wish me luck!

I have started a training schedule given to me by Jennifer Chase (thanks Jen). My goal is to complete this training schedule and be prepared for the half marathon Fly Pig race in May, but furthermore not to immediately lose motivation to keep running immediately after the race is over. This is somewhat what happened to me last year. This year I want to keep on running, because otherwise I’ll see 260 pounds and will feel crumby about my weight. Granted I’m 6’3” but being that heavy even on my frame looks slovenly especially in my field where everyone is so damn skinny.

Well... 16 months ago

Over the past [insert number of months here since I posted this], I’ve been running at least 2 miles per day, but for the most part I’ve been throwing on my daypack with about 10-20 lbs. of stuff and just WALK.

I’m having fun with it shrugs

Skipped a run :( 17 months ago

Maybe this is the beginning of an everlasting trend of procrastination. Maybe this is the kick in the butt i need to realize that i actually need to run. Whatever the situation, this occurance only happened because I found out my wife makes out with other women behind my back. I didn’t go home, so I couldn’t get my running shoes to go running. Is this really about the running shoes? Who knows…

keeping at it... 17 months ago

I ran 3 miles again. Almost stopped, because my brother quit due to his allergies, but he wouldn’t let me have a short run because of him. Thanks bro.

I’ve been overwieght my whole life. Recently I started runnning. Something I’ve always hated, and never could imagine myself doing. I found a sense of accomplishment out of it. It was hard at first. My pace was more like a run…walk…run…walk…walk…walk. My body adjusted over the weeks, and I learned how to breath correctly(made a huge difference). Now I’m doing 3 mile runs 3 times a week.

I fear that I may quit, or skip a run, or do something that will influence me to quit. This is something I have never done before, and attempting to exercise is something I have quit time and time again. I am proud that this is my most successful attempt at exercising.

This goal is part of a larger goal which is to lose weight, and keep it off. I have never been skinny/slender, or even average. I would settle with large, but strong and tone.

I need to keep at this goal. I need to run. I need to run. I need to run…

Finally got out 23 months ago

to run a mile. Slow start again, but it’s been over a month since I’ve run. Better now than never!

Didn't think I could do it, 2 years ago

but I did. Got out and ran a little over 2 miles tonight. Felt awful and amazing all at once!
