the bracelet I was working on a while ago. I originally said the one my mum made was a perfect fit, but I did hope mine would be ever so slightly smaller. Turns out it’s slightly bigger, but it still doesn’t fall off.

I started buying beads before I realised what I wanted to do with them.. I still do that as the beads themselves are very much a part of the inspiration for each individual piece!
I’m happy to offer assistance and tips on technique, as well as sharing my experiences with certain materials etc.
I’m still always looking for new techniques and materials to try.. so I am always learning something new and pushing the boundarys of what people expect jewellery to be made from..
For example I love to use recycled bits and pieces.. this is also a good way to say on the cash when you start out.
Apparently giving up a goal is more complicated now lol. Had trouble finding it first, and then discovered I can’t write an entry once I’ve given up.
Anyways…
I’m not really giving up completely, it’s just not the right time for this. When I come back to it (no idea how long), then I’ll probably need to be taught a few things to move on from the simple stuff I did.
My mum found another bead shop in Covent Garden in London and they do classes. I’d like to do one and if I like it, try a more advanced/different one. I wonder if there’s any in Brighton too.
Edit: There is at the bead shop I’m yet to visit, but they’re more specific classes.
I seem to be really taking my time with this one. Maybe because it’s something different and more complicated. I don’t want it to go wrong.
Just spent almost an hour starting the bracelet I talked about in the previous entry. Decided on blue, teal and black.
Note: This photo isn’t of one of mine. It’s a bracelet my mum made years and years ago, and it’s my example of what I’m attempting to make next. Good quality for being so old too :)
So far, in the two types of bracelets I’ve tried, I’ve not managed to get the length quite right. This one fits me perfectly, so I have some hope. Now to choose colours.
This one is purple (looks kinda brown in photo), blue and white
