make an effort to speak to my dad more often

my dad just got me a car.
the plates were replaced and he got the news ones where he lives…
so me and my best friend drove up there starting at 11 pm got there around 3!
was so much fun my first mini roadtrip and i got to see my dad!

I really appreciate how accepting he is of my personality, and I find that he doesn’t reach out to people they have to reach out to him (much like myself) and it really wouldn’t hurt to befriend him now that him and my mother live as seperate individuals.

Mostly because he’s in his final stages of brain cancer. I just never really opened up to him, just my mom.
I gotta do it before it’s too late.

but some things just aren’t meant to happen.

Today we went down to St Marylebone High Strret. It was just the two of us accompanied by beautiful weather.

Surprisingly I had a really pleasant time :) And amazingly we didn’t have any arguments, which is what usually happens. Things must definitely be improving!

We checked out my new school (the main one and the 6th form) we also did some shopping and lunched at one the little restaurants.

For the first time in a long while I felt like a real “Daddy’s Girl”. It was nice :)

I really hope we can do this again some time.

I think things are definitely improving, and what’s even better about this is that we seem to have founf a common ground: Fantasy. We both love it, whether it’s in books or a movie. I only just realised this the other night when my sister, brother and I were in my room watching Eragon (awesome movie) and my dad comes in and he sits down and starts watching too. It was a brilliant two hours, with all of us whooping when Eragon defeated the evil demon :}

Haha, so I’m gonna try and rent out some more fantasy DVDs for us to watch when he’s not at work, I haven’t seen ‘Pans Labyrinth’ yet, and it looks pretty cool, so maybe I should get that? O.o

Hmmm, I think I should stop being so damn argumentitive too, I get that I’m a teenager and it’s what’s expected, but really, I’d much rather have an awesome relationship with my parents than fit in with my peers. So that’s my new resolution: Stop being so freaking argumentitive! >.< I’m gonna give it a go :] Hehe, my parents WILL be shocked :P

it’s hard to make it work when he’s so obsessed with hating you. this whole thing was such a waste, as always he took every fucking thing for granted. i mean what sort of a father tells you he hates you? i don’t need him – all he is is my biological father, but he’s no dad.

well my parents got divorced at a real young age, so i never got to know my dad that well. he lives all the way across the country so its not like i get to see him…hmm i think i will call him :]

After most of my life of not really knowing the guy, I wrote him a 20-page letter describing how I wished we really knew each other better, and asking him what it was like between him and his own father (my grandfather died before I was born). We’ve become increasingly close over the years as a result, and now my father is one of the most important people to me! You never know!

Had a huge argument with him today (and i mean HUGE). I’m starting to wonder ifthere’s any point to this goal…It seems everytime i get anywhere near completing this goal, something always happens to stop me, and make it even harder for me! Right now we’re not on speaking terms, and i don’t think i even want to talk to him, that’s how mad i am…is he worth the stress??? I know i shouldn’t ask this, coz he’s my dad, but he really does know how to wind me up!!!
