Holly Wong watching I Love Lucy...what a surprise...
How I did it: It took me about a month to figure out how to make the food I enjoyed eating at restaurants in my own home, but I looked up recipes online and found out how quick and easy some foods are. I really don't like waiting around cooking but after finding 20-30 minute meals, I kind of enjoyed the fact that I made it all by myself. Going to the grocery store is fun too because you get all these ideas in your head and experimenting is part of that… Read how I did it…

It’s so much more fun and way cheaper in the long run. Plus I love looking at cookbooks and knowing you created something you could get at a five-star restaurant is awesome!
Persian Rice with my roommate! It was really kind of fantastic. A layer of sauteed onions on the bottom, the top is a mixture of basmati rice, raisins, apricots, spices, etc.. cook it in the oven for an hour, and then when it comes out you sprinkle chopped pistachios on top. YUM. :o)
It’s taken me months, but I’ve slowly gotten better. At least I’m branching out from canned soup and grilled cheese now. I’m not afraid of raw meat anymore! Now I know I can cook it without accidentally poisoning myself!! :o)

Why didn’t I let my mother (when she was alive) teach me how to cook…..I was always too busy or not interested. Now I have the time and I can cook a good dinner but baking….oh dear. To be able to make homemade bread like my mother did….would love to be able to do this.
I know, I know – It’s quite sad. I’m an awful cook. Ironically, I am a connoisseur. I’m in the process of learning from my mother, though. Hopefully I won’t food poison myself when I finally cook by myself!
So far, I have successfully made easy things:
Fried rice, some Asian omelet-like thing…, eggs, and some random Asian dishes. Hopefully I can be a full-fledged chef (ha!) by the end of summer!
My husband works and I’m a stay at home mom. My job is to provide food for our family. I cook every night, sometimes it’s better than others.
I’d love to learn new recipes and new cooking styles.
I’ve cooked just about all of Rachael Ray’s recipes, but that is only so much. I’d love to learn a GREAT dish!
Something that would have my hubby asking for it!

make a family tree recipe book thing with tony’s family and my family famous recipes to help me cook better and to pass on later!
even though I feel my cooking has improved a lot.
I’ve gotten a little more experimental, and I feel like I’ve accomplished this goal, though of course there’s always room for improvement!
