get a history degree

Cause here is the employment landscape…Do you want to be a teacher? Do you want to be a research historian? Do you want to go on for a PhD and teach at a university? Do you plan to get an MA in Museum Studies or Archaeology? If you answered NO to all of these, chose another field.

I always said, “know history”. I got a good job anyway, so :P

History is so crucial to know… and just knowing names and dates isn’t knowing history. People like to say that history unknown is history repeated, as if repeating history is a bad thing in every situation. I think many times our downfall is not repeating the good things in history.

this week I have been online looking at different schools where I would like to finish my history degree. I have been considering NC State, so I went to their website and looked around for a while. I’ll have to go somewhere else for my masters though, I did major in Music Education, but I would really love to get my history degree from there.

I learned a lot. but I’m not sure I’ll ever find a job.
