I’ve fought the urge to respond to annoyances immediately. The next day (or even later that same day) I’ve lost some of the steam and venom and I find that I can respond more appropriately.
I hope to make this a more natural response with practice.

I feel like it’s three steps forward…seven steps back.
One thing that continues to bother me is when things are unjust, or unfair…and I have an opportunity to interfere…no that’s not it…meddle…er…put my hand into the bee’s nest to see if there are any bees at home.
Restraint is something that I have available to me, and today it is going to be my weapon of choice.
Restraint
Gentleness
Grace
There are precious few battles that really need to be fought. I need to save my powder for the truly important things.

is to only think, say and do things that have some benefit or return. Stewing over things (even big and important things) is wasted effort. Better to focus on what I can do to help improve things (and if I can’t improve the situation…move on to something that I can affect).

to believe that life is fair, or that the world operates according to the way that things “should” be.
Focus on being effective.
Accept that things aren’t the way that they “should” be.
Do what needs to be done and forget all of the crap and drama!

If I’m getting a shitload done each day, I won’t have time to even consider some of the trivial things that niggle at me…

Yesterday...

someone was a real ass to me. I didn’t respond (because I’m trying not to be an ass myself), but I did stew over it for most of the day. Then I did something that I don’t normally do…I prayed about it. I believe God answered my prayer with a Latin phrase “ghetto verit”.
This is my new thought…just get over it! Sometimes people are assholes…but just like a baseball closer I’m going to forget yesterday’s game, and begin fresh today.
After a little while I was able to put it in my rear view mirror.
