Not worth it!

Mehh. Mooses (meese? moose?) are not terribly interesting creatures and the only one I saw was from a distance. It was napping at the Grand Tetons National Park.

I have seen moose in two seperate areas in the country, first at Yellowstone and then in Maine. It was amazing how close we were to them and how beautiful a creature they were.

going to do the Reach the beach relay in NH in 2 weeks. 200 miles over 24 hours across the great state of NH. Prime moose country. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Also Completing the Reach the Beach relay is one of my other goals too! can you say two birds with one stone.

When I was eleven my family took a road trip and we went through yellowstone, and we basically saw every animal except a moose. But just as we were leaving the park, less than a mile from the exit, there she blows! Right next to the road. Awesomely huge animals. Very majestic.

Moose are big  — 1 year ago

There was a restaurant I used to eat in, which no longer exists, that head a moose head and neck above the fireplace that was huge. Wikipedia says a male can stand over 6.5 feet high at the shoulder, but the dead one at the restaurant looked like it had to be taller than that.

SaraLuWho is enjoying the new format where you can change this whenever !

Moose are IT.  — 1 year ago

Moose are so cool. One year we were camping in yellowstone and a moose decided to camp out near the back of our site and stayed there for several days. It was SO cool. Looking back on it now as a mother, it would have made me pretty nervous, but we just experienced it as kids and enjoyed it for what it was. They are just really cool, kind of peaceful animals. VERY LARGE though, so obviously you have to keep your distance, but… another time my husband was hiking a trail alone and came upon one and startled it and watched it run away and was amazed by that. What a weird goal!

I transferred from my community college in southern California to the University of Alaska for a little bit of adventure… there are moose all over the place up here!! Even though i’m almost done with my 2nd year up here, I still get all excited when I see moose. They’re awesome! Except when they chase you at 8:30am when you’re really hungover.
