adopt a little Indian girl

I heard this story while I was in college. A couple was in India and the man was telling the story…he was in an urban area and he saw a little girl that people were trying to sell on the street. The man knew that she would be sold into temple prostitution and so he paid the sellers their price and brought the little girl home. Now as he is relaying this story he tries to be funny by telling how he didn’t consult his wife before he brought her home. I was horrified by that statement. If my husband had come home and asked first I would have been furious, I too would have taken that little girl in without even thinking. And ever since I heard that story I’ve felt that I would adopt.
