scrapbooking

My friend loved her little scrapbook I made for her birthday. My next project was a calendar for 2009, which is lovely even though I say so myself. Will continue to look for one day workshops as I haven’t a lot of time to devote at the moment to a whole season of classes. this is a hobby I love. Will have to think of my next project.

Now that my 1st scrapbooking project is completed (mini Scrapbook) I am starting on a desk top calendar for 2009. I have another lovely workshop to attend on 2nd January, all day. Can’t wait!

Well I went to my workshop last weekend and had a ball! It’s like going out to play, like when I was a child. Grown women getting excited over decorating a photo album! Very satisfying. I have been working at a mini scrapbook all week to give my friend as a present for her birthday. Am so delighted with it. Can’t stop looking at it. It’s lovely even though I say so myself!! :O)

I have awaited this for a very long time. About twenty years ago, I lived in a community in France where a lot of the photos of festivities and celebrations were “scrapbooked”. I had never seen anything like this and thought it was a very special way to keep the memories. I didn’t even know that it was called scrapbooking. In the past few years, the craze has hit Ireland. (It took a very long time to get here!) I have been meaning to sign up to a class for ages. I have boxfulls of the materials, papers, tools, etc and need to make a start before I have more of those than photographs. Anyway I was too late to sign up for this season’s local class, but am enrolled in a workshop this Saturday morning which will give me a taster and some ideas to get me started. I cannot wait for Saturday to come. I’m so excited. This will be one of the things which makes my heart sing. :0)

I just realized this weekend how far behind I am on this project. Certain things have kept me from doing any scrapping for the past two years, now things are beginning to settle down and I need to get back to this.
