And we stayed the night in a hotel called Camelot, yes—it is a giant castle shaped hotel. I’ll be posted pictures soon!

T minus 24 hours until the road trip begins!

So the itinerary is set, we are leaving October 7th and returning the 8th or 9th. Columbus Day weekend. We have 14 places staked out between here (Chicago) and Madison, WI. It is similar to my old list, but with new favorites like Bessie the Frutopia Cow and some crazy attractions in the Wisconsin Dells. We are using an iGo car, the car sharing service since we don’t have our own. Much more environmentally friendly (all the cars are hybrids) and gas is even included. Yea!

I was never aware of how many options there are for roadside attractions around Chicago. Here is a small sampling of the most enticing options I’ve found so far:

I really want to go see all the crazy roadside attractions the US has to offer, like large balls of twine, largest ketchup bottle, etc… It would be hilarious
