i have always dreamed of having a garden with a pond, right by the pond an old weeping willow, and sitting in the middle of the pond a meditating buddha statue. that would be the perfect place to meditate :)

So – if anyone has any ideas on the best way to approach it, I’m open to suggestion. Virtual Clay in your virtual hands.
My boss bought me this book a while back. It’s written by the people that started CSS Zen Garden. It’s a great CSS and web standards resource, even if you’re not planning on building a CSS Zen Garden style sheet.
Today, I submitted ‘Serenity’ (my CSS Zen Garden attempt) to Dave Shea. My work can be seen here:

Now I just have to wait to see if he accepts my work. Meanwhile I’d love to hear what you think, or simply cheer it.
Hey Andrew Miesem – I agree with your views on the abundant amount of ‘block’ design. I too, am a victim! So I’m really looking forward to seeing your unique work – how’s it going?
I’m extremely new in the web-design feild. I haven’t had any formal training… everything I’ve done I figured out by experimenting. I find this to be an extremely inneficient tool when it comes to technology.
My first experiments with CSS can be found on http://maverickdigitaldesign.com
This was a pet project that my roommates and I did. We don’t do it anymore, as we very quickly got over our heads. Anyway, the posibilities of CSS are amazing, and I think the pinaccle of learning it would be to create a custom design on CSS Zen Garden.
I had a great idea yesterday for a way to create a really unique CSS Stylesheet for the Zen Garden. A co-worker and I were discussing how so many of the styles on the site look the same. They’re all blocks with some kind of over-graphical header and clever little titles. I said that I wanted to do something that was mostly text, and KABLAMMO it hit me.
So, I just taught a CSS class at work, and I got to experiment with a few things while doing so. Also, I took a look at Eric Meyer’s example of Zen Garden stylesheet creation in More Eric Meyer on CSS and got a few ideas.
Now I just have to find the time and a good starting point.
for those who don’t know what that is:
and the short answer is: it’s a web design gallery (always the same content, but different designs from different authors)
做完后感觉很有成就感!
克服了一些困难,但是没有想像中的那么难。不知道什么时候能加入到css zen garden的offical styles里。期待啊!
