Quiet, lovely, expensive.. It was my dream to visit Wien. Although my expectations were high, I am not disappointed. I suggest you to go to the Volksgarten, lie down and watch the people instead of watching the buildings.

Lovely! 3 years ago

A city worth visiting! The atmosphere there was so boheamian and sophsticated in a relaxed way. Hope you understand what I mean. But I would love to go there again and just sit in the coffee houses drinking coffee, smoking and wathcing passers by.

I went to Vienna Austria and there is a place there that serves a cake called a Sacher Torte, its made with no flour and you need to eat it with a glass of water its so rich… They sell roasted chestnuts on the street and the museum’s are awesome, it was the first time I saw a Kilmpt!

Purplenails tiddly pom, tiddly pom.

Well I live here 4 years ago

at the moment and I think its gourgous, would love to live here longer. The only thing they lack is the sea! I mean its a great location, Austria’s great, you’re right next to Italy, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic well loads of countries really. Come, you’ll love it, explore far and wide.

maybe it's because i worked there... 4 years ago

i did the ‘tourist’ aspect of vienna in about a week, and then wound up taking the train out of town every time i had a moment off (prague, bratislava, budapest, berlin)...

sure, great museums, opera, blah blah blah – but after a week or so you’ve done it ALL and there’s not much left. Viennese ‘culture’ is very very strange – i found them to be kind of cold, unfriendly people – and the food, BLECH

after a month of that i was very, very glad to be elsewhere.

sld1 Resting...at last.

It’s wonderful. Sort of “mysterious”. Loved hearing an orchestra play Strauss walzes in the Vienna Woods & also seeing the Lippizaner stallions.

Vienna is beautiful! Was there for a weekend and it was already too short to fully enjoy everything. Loved Naschmarkt, Schonnbrunn and Gersstbahn (the ghost train at the theme park) most of all. I wanna go again to see the rest of everything I missed out on. (P.S. One has GOT to try the langosh (sp?) also!!!) :)
