Seriously I can’t tell you how much I love kids. I grew up in a daycare, looking after infants from when I was barely older than one myself and have always enjoyed being around children. I want to be a teacher. My man is one of six children and only wants two, while I am one of two, and I want four. Three sound good? Kids are my life. It sounds kind of weird from a die-hard feminist, but the joy and happiness I get from children could never be replaced by anything.
on how to reach this goal.
I’m pretty sure we can figure this one out on our own.
Okay, as of June 27, 2005, the “kid count” hit six … 3 girls, 3 boys … 3 imports, 3 domestic … 2 blondes, 4 brunettes …
The two oldest are mine by pure biology (mine & my wife’s) and the others are the gifts of adoption, some from overseas, one from the U.S. (adoption pending).
All I can say is that it takes a great deal of patience (and I still need more) and you do have to put up with a bunch of ignorance and shock (“Don’t you and your wife know when to stop?”, “How many are your REAL kids?”, and the snobbish looks of the Abercrombie-wearing-BMW-driving-my-only-child-has-gold-lined-diapers crowd), but in the end it’s all worth it … every one of the kids is a fantastic lesson in life and the worth of every human being. They bring joy to my life, smiles to my face, and bills to my door. :-) Wouldn’t have it any other way!
