that whoever buys this place will love the park like feel of it and make it even more beautiful than my mother kept it.

This is walkway along the side of the cottage. There isn’t suppose to be grass in the sidewalk or all those weeds in the flower beds along the house…there is alot of work to be done. I love this kind of work though, I can spend hours outside in the yard. The monarch butterflies are here right now and evertime I walk though our rose arbor or along the trees at the end of this yard hundreds of butterflies swirl around me.
We have been working on this for the last month. Things really had gotten out of control while I was gone but E., our new property manager, has really taken control and with everyone pitching in we are starting to make some sense of our jungle.
..is doing an excellent job at this. I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve not been helping out much, mainly coz I’m hardly home before sunset. Still, this goal is doing well, thanks to their industrious effort.
..and I need to help him clean up our back patio. Currently, it looks like a war zone. His tools are everywhere and flower pots and planting bags are strewn about haphazardly.
We’re in some kind of crunch time coz my mom comes back home in less than 2 weeks time. We’re trying to keep our heads in check and not panic, but the moment she steps out of the car, we know mum will take a 360 degree look and start picking on this and that. We’re so used to this routine but still the dread doesn’t pass.
I guess we’ll try to focus on the good stuff more. And my Japanese Roses are doing superbly at this time of year. It’s hot but we get rain every few days now. Even my hibiscus is flowering again, though I was convinced it was gonna die of malnutrition. The stalks are so skinny and the leaves look a sickly shade of yellow.
The work in a garden never ends, but every now and then, I take a look around and the sights of blooming flowers and healthy greens make it all worthwhile.
Major weeding, trimming and pruning is required. Saturday morning.. I hope.
The people who did the extension of the underground pipes had to dig up my precious Japanese roses. I end up having to transfer some of them to the flowerbed near the gate. I hope they’ll live. And damn those stupid weed! Must do something about them soon..
I attacked the flower bed outdoors. My father planted these tiny white and purple flowers, but the weeds have grown and threatened to ruin his hard work. I managed up to about a third, before it got dark and I had to stop for the day. I plan to continue tomorrow morning, clear off all the weeds and decide if I need to add new plants around that area. Need to do some cleaning up too, the state of my front yard is quite a sorry sight.
Looks like I’ll be mostly outdoors tomorrow, which is a good distraction right now. I need this otherwise my self-restraint will crumble. And that wouldn’t be such a stupendous way to kick start the new year, would it..
I did some gardening, after what seemed like months. The usual stuff, planted more Japanese Roses onto the flower bed. Then I planted a new batch in the pot, until one month later when they’re ready to be replanted.
Took me about 3 hours to finish everything. By the time I was done, had to rush to get ready for a wedding lunch reception. After that, I dropped by the office to see how the network upgrade was progressing. Thankfully, everything went well. Now, I’m looking forward to an evening of R&R, until tomorrow when I’m supposed to revise my final thesis submission (yep, a bit more to go). I have quite a bunch of things on my weekend to-do list still, but I’m not fretting. All in good time.
me and my dad have been working at this goal even harder. We brought home a bunch of plants as new additions to our garden. Mum wants to get a few new pots and have some other plants involving the vege patch. I’m concentrating on the Japanese roses still, they’re the one thing I could manage for now. Other than that, it’s pretty much just helping my dad with the heavy lifting and such. We spoke about getting the garden swing again. Mum hinted that I pay half, to which I said sure. Of course, I have no idea how much it’s gonna cost, but figured I’d keep the peace for now and argue later if the price turns out to be beyond my budget.
