awindow is waiting...for a lot of things.
Things I have left to do:
Send my ACT score reports
Complete my Barnard interview
Complete and submit my Barnard supplement
Complete and submit my McGill scholarship app
Arrange and complete my NYU-Poly interview
Complete and submit my Penn State Honors College app
And after all that I need to handle financial aid stuff.

awindow is waiting...for a lot of things.
MIT, Barnard, McGill, NYU-Poly, Penn State, Truman.
I think that’s going to be it.
I’ve written the first draft of my big essay, filled out the common app (for Barnard), started the Barnard supplement, filled out the Truman app, and started the apps for MIT and Poly. McGill and Penn State don’t have anything up yet.
I have a bunch of forms to give my counselor and teachers still. I need to write short answer responses for Barnard and MIT and polish my main essay. I also need to send score reports once I have all my apps sent out.

I have four schools to which I’m currently planning to apply: MIT (reach), McGill, Penn State, and Truman State (safety). None of these take the Common Application. I may also apply to Harvard and/or Princeton and/or Yale and/or Barnard. All of these take the Common Application.
All I can work on at the moment is my music supplement which I will send to MIT Admissions and McGill Scholarship Committees and, if I apply, the four Common App schools.
I’d be happy at any of these schools but Truman, and I really doubt I’ll have to go to Truman. My preferences within the others:
MIT, Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Barnard (if they give me enough financial aid to make the cost roughly equal to that of McGill), McGill, Penn State.

So, I still think it is total B.S. that the “College Board” wants me to pay ten bucks for each college I want them to send My scores to. Not to mention the incredulous price of the test itself. But, I am still happy that I did so well on the reading comprehension part of it, even on the PSAT. It was interesting to compare my raw (basically didn’t “prepare” much for the test) scores with the averages in various colleges. Also, I loved seeing my essay scanned because my handwriting is so insane I bet they knocked off points just because they were irritated they had to decode it. :D
I’m not sure if I should send it right now because I’m already behind so I think I might just have to apply next semester. I’m really not interested in college anymore but I still have the ideas of going into certain specific areas.
+ Dietitian/Nutritionist
+ Physical Therapist (Assistant?)
+ Occupational Therapist
I picked these because of some of my interests and also because there is an obvious career at the end of the degree.

I typed up the recommendation letter immediately after school and I’ll talk to that teacher tomorrow.
So, I need stamps huh? I also need to find out (still!) how to have my transcripts and scores sent.
QUICK update: A) Guidance just bills you if you had them send something so I didn’t need to worry about stamps or envelopes! B) I bitched about the scores in my new entry. C) I think I know how to send transcripts but if they could fax it that’d be faster.

I was reluctant to even walk into guidance. But after 6th I did, with two of the college papers. And it is a good thing I did because I can’t even have the transcripts sent until I give her my activity sheet (which I completely forgot about). So, tomorrow morning I’m handing that to the secretary so I can have their part of the paper process completed… (Does that mean I can finally ask for a rec’? Ask friend.)
I bugged my people a couple of times subtly and they still haven’t given me a small key element for my applications so I need to confront them again to their face…and somehow get them to look for it!
I edited my personal response. Ugh. I made mistakes and didn’t catch them the first or the second time… Hopefully, I’ll have Kevin look over it tonight and then perhaps he can kick my ass to ask my english teacher to look at the grammar (since that is what she seems to care about).
I redid one of the online applications (LS) so now I know that for that one I need to email the personal statement and hand in the guidance paper for sure. They didn’t ask for a recommendation so do I not send one?

I’m getting organized about these… I just need to
Print papers (On the 12)Proofread and rewriteFill in little things (This is taking far too long!)Bring transcript requests to guidance (Did end of 6)Ask him to write a recommendation letterType it up
and figure things out.
- Ask someone to critique my essay because now I think it needs refining…
Now lets hope I don’t take too much time to do this.
