Research my DNA

i’ve researched a couple different sites, it seems the main ones are www.healthanddna.com/ancestry.html (that test is 395), and the second one is www.familytreedna.co/genbygen.html (that test is $129). the consultation # for the $129 test is 800-613-5768, and the results take 2-3 weeks…and that’s for the mtDNA tst, not the paternal one. i think i’ll call the consulation # soon and look into it :)

i want to find out where i come from….my grandma was adopted, so she has no clue what she is despite tons of research and years trying to find her birthmother. it never happened, and i’ve always felt a little sad that i didn’t know where i come from on my mom’s side…..my friend told me about this new service where you can send in your dna (i think she said it was a couple hundred dollars), and they can tell you where your ancestors came from….i think it might actually help me to better understand myself and where i come from.

I wonder where I originate from. I know I have ancestors in Southern Europe, and elsewhere, but I’m not really sure where. It would be very interesting to have a personal DNA scan done and find out things about myself that go back into the mists of time, centuries or maybe a thousand years ago. Don’t know how it’s done. Or what it costs. How would I react to knowing so much more? Would it be exciting or upsetting? Would I regret doing it? What’s done will be done then, there’s no going back once you find out the secrets about yourself that you never knew existed.
