learn to write poetry

I have no idea of it’s any good though. I posted a poem on Yahoo Answers and was told that I have the “Soul of a Poet” which was kinda cool.

Bought a notebook today. I’m going to put a new poem in it everyday. My current inspiration is to write in the same style as people like Ginsberg and Kerouac(and possibly Leonard Cohen).

or does it simply come from the heart?

I’ve googled this and have jeteye-d some sites which have given me somewhere to start looking and learning when I get the time to have a better look.

Any help with inspiration? I read poems on Quizilla.com, but it’s mostly very, very, very bad. it’s almost always like “A boy and a girl, he left her, she cut her wrists and died, he realized he loved her and cried.” XD WTF. The whole cutting thing is a HUGE trend on quizilla. It’s ok though because that’s where I realized that I asn’t alone, in fact, cutting has become some kind of a cliché or a fashion statement. So I kind of quit. Lol. Anyway, check out quizilla and at least you might learn how to write BAD poetry. oh, one more piece of advice! PLEEEAASE don’t use msn language when writing, that goes for stories as well. it SUCKS having to read “u kno i luv u” XD it’s just pathetic.
