I am fascinated by the fact that the streets of Venice are water. I have to take a gondola ride around Venice before I die.

Ah, Venice!

I was only 5 or 6 years old, and my impression then was that Venice was kind of dirty and crowded—but it was still kind of cool that water lapped right up against the buildings! We took a motor boat out to the island of Murano and visited a glass making factory. I still have the platinum-edged brandy glasses my parents bought during that visit to this day.
