finish the living room

Everything was finally finished before Christmas!

So March has come and gone and the fireplace is still only 99% finished. No more work has been done. Researching tv’s and we aren’t really getting anywhere. too many choices, too many complaints, we just need to decide…

The fireplace will be finished!!! That is my deadline. What to do: Get 2 pieces of bull nose wood, one a few inches wider than the other. Stain both of those & the “feet”. Attach to wall/fireplace! And then the only parts that remain are getting a TV and building the entertainment center. Yay, more fun with power tools!!

Well this weekend was productive & long. Fireplace progress: stone tiles have been added, grout’d, & cleaned. Surround has been stained, sanded, stained, mounted. Feet have been made, sanded, stained, sanded, stained, need stained again. Rearrangments have been made, measurements have been taken. Makes me happy!

Things are getting closer. ‘rents are coming to help with the wall in march. she has some great ideas & they have the know-how to get it done.

So far we have taken the sledge hammer to the living room wall, redone plumbing, electric, insulation, framing, drywall, and initial painting.

Right now the hold up is 1) it looks in a mostly completed state so we do not feel AS motivated to spend our time doing on it. 2) we are uncertain as to the next few steps, but we have gotten this far & should just jump on in…
