be prepared for my first winter in a cold climate

It isn’t nearly as cold as I had feared.
I keep hearing “oh, you just wait!” and I know it’s coming
but I spent a year in Minnesota.
I may be out of training,
but I forgot I have done it before.

I now have a long coat, snow boots, plastic on my windows, & a humidifier beside my bed, and i’m about to hunker down for the winter. (I’d rather hibernate, but a girl’s gotta eat, & food doesn’t grow on trees in these parts _{leastwise not in the winter!}, so i suppose i have to work.)

one of my co-workers said, “It’s going to be nice this weekend: it’s supposed to get up into the 40s.” I laughed: are you kidding me???

Can i cry now, or will my eyes freeze?

Well, at least i now have a long coat and one of my new pairs of snow boots (so i can stop wearing my approach shoes in the snow & ice).

What the heck!?

Thanks To Hunnypie alerting me to the “cool mist humidifier” I found one on ebay for 15 bucks, shipping included.

and, of course, i had to take a nap so that i could try it out as soon as i got home from Target. Love it! Maybe now i’ll stop waking up every morning with a sinus headache and blood in my nose!

the leaves would disappear earlier this year than i’m used to, i didn’t realize this was what he meant!

I prefer the cold.

You can always add layers, you can throw on extra blankets, but last summer (my first experience with a New York Summer) nearly killed me.

I’ve been to hot, humid places. I prefer the chill, crisp mornings.

I got all excited today, when I woke up and my digital radio shack temperature gauge said 42^o

The first thing I did this morning—was open the window!
