How I did it: The motivation was because I live on campus at school and I either cook or I continue to eat crappy cafeteria food! I finally chose the former!! By watching lots of Food Network, inspired by Giada de Laurentiis, Anthony Sedlak, Ricardo and Michael Smith.- By watching my mom cook at home, and picking up useful tips from her. ok this is a quick tasty lunch-type meal which i invented (and adore) so what you need is;
crabsticks (about 12)
2 slices of brown bread – grainy if possible
mayonnaise – light / less fattening (lol)
ketchupp! :P
fresh lettuce
ok you toast the bread till its mildly crispy and butter immediately, whilst washing your lettuce (a few leaves for each toast) and let those dry then you get ketchup and mayonaise and spread/squeeze/dollop a proportional amount of each on each slice of toast and ‘blend’ until pinky, then unwrapp your crabsticks and line up 6 on each toast and plonk the lettuce leaves on top of each and voila a great tasty/low calorie snack which leaves you satisfied between meals! (i love this lol)

So Jan I did not make a single stir fry dish. It also decided I will be elimating red meats and cuting down on chicken consumption. So my 2009 cooking goals (without months) are:
stir fry (I have the pan but never used it)
Lasagna (is there a veggie version?)
veggie salad I actually like (I remember seeing a salad with apples in it)
tomatoboi is trying to learn cooking....damn.
i have become sick of eating fast food, so i want to learn cooking.

So I cooked today while watching Top Chef. I have discovered that I like watching that show. Maybe it motivate me to cook some dishes. In order to make sure I go through with this goal. I will use one month a year in 2009 to make a new dish. I will redo the dish within that month until I get it right.

i think i can put this goal into “done” category as i have learned how to cook some of the dishes and most importantly i am enjoying cooking(i feel that’s what matters)...
