i realized what i wanted to do with my life on a wednesday afternoon in history class in 8th grade. i was in social studies, and as usual was distracted by the side stories that the textbook featured. i was flipping pages when i came across the story of a young boy who at 13 entered university. his dream one day was to cure Parkinson’s disease. to see that much motivation and aspiration in a kid the same age as me got me thinking. that potential for greatness drove me to want to become a doctor. when i started volunteering at the local hospital in the summer of 8th grade, i fell into NICU (neonatal intensive care unit).
neonatology, here i come.
