stay on top of my work

I’m back at university for my second year. This goal is not going well. Most of our homework sheets aren’t meant to be handed in or marked this year, so there is no motivation to get them done at any particular time. I don’t know where the time goes, weeks just dissappear and nothing gets done.

I’ve discovered recently that I can double-dip a couple of my work assignments. I pissed away all last weekend, but yesterday I was able to get a major project finished. I’m going to try to do some work-related reading tonight, before bed.

My job is actually two jobs rolled into one: I’m a teacher, and a researcher. For the past two years, I have succumbed to the “there’s no way I can research during the semester” M.O. This semester, I want to confine my teaching work to my teaching days (Monday night through Thursday afternoon), and keep the rest of the time sacred for my research.

Semester starts next Monday. I’ll keep y’all posted.
