Why not a big machine from the glory days of Detroit. Big, long, floaty boaty on the road and just like sitting in a sofa on wheels. A 49 Mercury, a 57 Cadillac. Top down and cruise.
The extravagance of it all. Coming out of the post war shortages and the optimism that the styles of the day held. No more shortages, use lots of steel, lots of power and look to the space age for streamlined tail fins with lots of chrome.
