...English-translated fiction. What I lack is his non-fiction book, Underground. I’ve placed that one in my “finish this reading list” goal. So, I consider this complete with a disclaimer for now.

I finished Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World this morning. When I started this, I thought it would be my least favorite Murakami novel. Now, I rank it relatively high on the list. A nice way to conclude his work. There’s a scene I love where the protagonist is in his car at the beach, watching the barges and listening to Bob Dylan, and he comments, “The world is full of revelations.”
I guess the next Murakami work I’ll read is his non-fiction, Underground. Unless I learn Japanese.

...Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, which will be the last of his English-translated novels. The only thing remaining is his only non-fiction book, Underground. What will I do when I finish? Sit around and wait for the next one?

Finished After Dark and South of the Border, West of the Sun over the last month. I’ve got one novel and a nonfiction book to go.

I just finished Dance, Dance, Dance. The main character is 34, and I turned 34 as I was reading it. He waxes philosophic at one point about how a man my age is dealing with the fast approach of mid-life. I can relate, Mr. Murakami.
