own nothing

When I say own nothing, I do not mean living in a box with nothing more than the clothes on my back. I mean getting rid of all the things that take me away from my goals. I am donating 30 books to the library tomorrow and I hope that this will help me lighten the load. If I keep this up, I may not even need my bookcase anymore. I barely fill one-and-a-half shelves now. Ever since I got into the wild world of minimalism, I always find ways to cut down more, and get rid of more things and put them to others’ good use. I wish to travel and live light, as my profession will most likely have me on the road quite a bit. It makes me adaptable and mobile. Good luck to all of you.

In early August I moved from Wisconsin to Florida and took only what I could fit in my Mazda MX3. Selling/giving away all of my stuff was so freeing. I felt like nothing was tying me down.

I’ve already accumulated too much, although I always live light.
