get a bank account

Its on my to-do list, thats progress dude. Heh, jk. Legal issues of custody to deal with 1st, but its on here.

Time for me to be the adult I’ve become…

I need to have a bank account even though I technically don’t have a paycheck because I work for my family. However, it’s important that I set one up for any future internships, etc as well as getting a credit card/debit in order to begin establishing credit. I’ve been a bum what else can I say?

So my new goal:

Walk into Chase (which I loathe) open a college checking account with a visa (and a horrific APR). And just buy something and begin to make minimum payments on it. That’s about all that I can really do. I was also thinking to get paperless banking because I’d prefer not to ‘file’ things away.

Wow, that didn’t take long. I thought I would haev to wait foreer due to stupid Wamu and them screwing me.

BUUT….I got a Bank of America account! I’m so excited because life will now be a bagillion times easier!

I have my card through, my pin and my paying in book.

YAY!

Definately worth doing now i can get my wages etc paid in to my account.

I went in to HSBC today,
The lady photo copied my information and sent off some forms.
Now all i have to do is wait 5-7 working days, for my debit card to come through and then i will complete this goal.

I cant wait – because i believe a bank account gives you freedom.
Such as buying things online will be easier aswell as saving my money!.

very.. very worth it. speedy service. great people at both Wachovia and Bank of America. I reccomend them both strongly. I wish I could go to the bank more often because of their excellence in customer service. they surpass all of my expectations. Choose Bank of America or Wachovia and you’re golden.

ps. when i switched banks i forgot to tell my job and my check is direct deposit and this seems to cause disruption, so don’t forget to tell your job ahead of time.! heh..oops.

got a bank account today, a proper one, with only my name on it, coz the last one i had i was too young to have my own and it had my mums name on it too. but i’m glad i’ve finally got a place to put my money and it’s under my control and nobody elses!

Join a credit union. Banks will eat you alive.

Hello everyone!! I had a checking and savings account not too long ago, but one went into a negative balance. I paid it off, but it had already gone into Chexsystems so they closed both of the accounts. I have to have direct deposit at my office and I can’t get another bank to give me an account…..please, some advice would be very appreciated!! Thank you to all.
