"Keep on believing and keep the faith and good things will come right on time"
How I did it: Two days ago, it was my daughter’s second birthday. It was a special day for both of us, my daughter and me. She has become more indepentant than the year before and such an inspiriation for me to do better.
That very morning, I woke up really early just crying because the job I was promised didn’t seem to ever come and here it’s my daughter’s birthday and I couldn’t even buy her a cake let alone any of the things I felt that she needed. Even during that last week, I started to lose my faith about finally getting that job that I went back on job search sites applying for jobs in my field and even jobs I knew I never wanted to do but had to just to make some money.
So that day I decided to just go on celebrating and planned to bake a cake and make homemade pizza for her birthday as a gift for her for now. So I did get a call from one of the jobs I posted the day before. It was in my field and the money was there, but it would of been a long commute to get there everyday, like 1 and 1/2 hours long by car. That would mean an early time I’d had to leave and barely anytime to be with my child when I get home because of her bedtime. By that time I was despite and submitted my name to be picked not know what was in store for me later that afternoon. It was 2pm and I was over my grandfather’s place with my mother and daughter just talking and visiting, when I got a call from my job recruiter (the person who got me the job that I been waiting for). I answered and she said she had some surprising news that could be good. From the last call I got from her was on Monday of that same week saying that they still couldn’t start me working anytime soon. Well on this Friday afternoon, she told me that they had a meeting with the company that had me on wait-list for 3 months now had made a decision. She said “We gave them an ultimatum, they either give you an official start date, or we will withdraw your name. Well… they said you start October 1st.” When she said that, I was sooooo happy, excited and thanked God and her for this. She didn’t know that I balled my eyes over this that night before, it was just a miracle. So now I just have to fill out a contract and fax it back on Monday and I will be working 37.5 hours a week at the job I been wanting to work at since I graduated from college over a year ago.
Lessons & tips: I know this was long winded but I am writing this to say is if you desire and want something in life, it might not happen immediately and you might have to go through some hard times but if just keep your faith and believe that whatever you desire that is good will happen, just right on time. I thank everyone who cheered and gave me inspiration to just keep going, especially to my mother who helped me from day 1 and reminded me that things will happen for me, in due time.
Resources: Supportive family and friends, my beliefs, and my job recruiter.
