How I did it: I have never been a teacher! I always wanted to be a teacher. After I finish school and go to college i will be a teacher. Or I will help elephants! Elephants are awesome! I have always wanted to be a teacher because I have seen teachers helping other students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read how I did it…
How I did it: University MA/Teacher Certification Program. I took most of the required education courses as an undergraduate but would have had to stay undergraduate for another year in order to student-teach, so I graduated with my English degree, then re-applied to the School of Ed. as a graduate student. This was an efficient choice because, in order to continue teaching, I would need to pursue my Master's degree anyway! Read how I did it…

Well, the University of Southern Queensland does them. 1 year duration, just got all the info. Applications close mid January. Only problems…am I qualified? Maybe not to do secondary school teaching…but to do primary school perhaps.
That’s one place I can apply for, now just gotta search more universities to find out what other ones offer it by distance.
To do:
1. Find all universities in Australia that offer a 1 year teaching course by distance
2. Find out which of those qualifications are recognised interstate, AND in the UK (with the possibility of me living in the UK in 2011)
3. APPLY for those courses
4. Do my teaching qualification! And it will all be awesomes!!! :D
I am almost done with my undergraduate degree in education with a concentration in mathematics. I am so excited and nervous. I am observing a class and soon ( 4 months) I will do my student teaching.
mccasland_d is studying for the THEA.
I knew I always wanted to become a teacher, but I never thought of actually going through with it. Next Thursday I will be taking the THEA to gain entrance to the Teacher’s Program at my school in Texas. I am really nervous. I have taken it once before, but it did not really matter to me. That was over four years ago and now I am kicking myself for not caring. I have never taught a class before and I am going to an orientation for subsitutes next Friday. I am really freaked out and ecstatic at the same time.
i want to be a teacher because they get to chew gum and get to drink sodas in class.they getto go in a cool room called a teachers louge.
