I found my learners permit!! It was lost in a pocket of an old winter jacket. Now I can practice more. And I have all summer so hopefully I’ll take the road test before fall!

How I did it: I went in to the DMV, I already had the written test taken care of last year, so just took the driving test... and I passed. So that's pretty much it. Read how I did it…

How I did it: It took me that long because I started working on it in my 30s - I did not need to drive back in Europe or in NYC. So, I passed theory in Brooklyn DMV on 7/1/2005 (I only read responses to questions while I was waiting in line, and passed!!!), then I took probably 30 lessons with different instructors and let me tell you - some of them are such jerks. I never felt confident, so I failed a test on 9/7/2005 and I could not retake it because… Read how I did it…

How I did it: My mom helped alot, especially with parallel parking. I took it one day at a time. breathing in and out before each time i drove. I checked my surroundings about a million times. I took it slow. Read how I did it…

How I did it: i passed my learners tests, i have a clean driving record, i took lessons, i can drive with no problem. but i failed my final test the first time. i was so disappointed after that, i convinced myself that they were right and that i couldn't drive. after two years, i realized why did i let one person's opinion bully me so much. one out of the entire country? so i bit the bullet and passed today :) Read how I did it…
How I did it: Nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be; they didn't even make me parallel park.Despite having taken my test twice already, I was worried on the third go that I didn't really know how to drive. Turns out that working out my anxieties during the first two tests had really helped, and I was finally able to get my license. In fact, the examiner said that I was the best driver she'd had all week! And they didn't even mak… Read how I did it…

My grandmother never learned to drive. And she didn’t walk much either. As a little girl, I watched her neediness and quickly decided I would not choose the same path. Growing up on a farm helped, too. Driving was part of the work. I highly recommend learning the skill even if you don’t expect to ever need it. You never know when it might come in handy. And it really isn’t rocket science. Just do it!

and picked up a rules of the road book so that i may study it for the test. Wish me luck!
I lost my learners permit somewhere. So I need to apply to have another one sent to me. Then I can practice driving more this summer, and hopefully take my road test before the fall.
Starshine is not sure where she is going and is afraid she will lose her dreams.
I can officially stop, start, navigate in first and second gears on a normal road, turn, switch gears and turn the windshield wipers off and on. Never thought I’d even try, no one has ever taken me seriously about driving so this opportunity is really awesome and gives me hope that after I get myself settled I could, if I wanted to, switch to more convenient modes of transportation.
I got it first time I did the exam. And I was one of the few, so many ppl failed. So I guess I did well :)

I have been procrastinating doing this since i was 16 (i’m 20). Not because im not confident in, just because im confident in others. Im somewhat a control freak. I read the book i dont knwo how many times but i went a few years later because this year i have to go on a vaction with my boyfriend and we have to rent a car, i took the knowledge test and failed. I went a second time after drilling the book info in my head and the DMV was closed. Why does it close on mondays??? so i went back and i passed. I go 1 1/2 months later to take the drivers test. I’m driving there and i get a flat. I had to call and reschedule. I rescheduled for the next week and finally did it! i got an 88% i was so nervous but i finally did it! now i love driving!!!
