I’ve put my scriptures on my ipod. This helps because I can listen to them while I get my work done. This doesn’t help because I end up listening to Arcade Fire instead. Hm.

I did it before. For three years straight, then I missed on day. Since then, I haven’t been doing it but once a week. I want to do this again.
I want to learn more about the Bible. Also I want to undrstand what I am reading.

I’ve been so undisciplined about scripture reading; but since I’ve committed to read my scriptures every day, I have seen many blessings in my life. There isn’t a profound revelation every time I read; but I have been blessed with many wonderful insights for my life while reading scripture. Remembering to pray first truly enhances the scripture-reading experience. Sometimes the message in scripture is amazingly appropriate, and sometimes it is surprisingly enlightening. Just following through on a promise I’ve made to the Lord is a blessing in itself, of course. I’m thankful for the reminder to keep me on task on 43Things.com. I now carry my Bible to work, the store, etc. in my bag so I can read while waiting, in the car before going in places, during breaks, etc. It helps to have a goal to read the Bible in a year. I keep my reading schedule as a bookmark and x off each chapter read, whether I read it from the book, online, or listened to audio. Keep reading!
I’ve been really bad about reading the scriptures. It’s been quite a while. I think part of my problem is I have a hard time just casually browsing them. I like to do a more serious meditative study which I often feel I don’t have time for. I guess I just need to make time.
