more fiber! — 2 years ago
Worth doing!
I can’t believe the average daily fiber intake for industrialized countries is 12 grams. I eat more than 12 grams of fiber per meal! Not to mention single servings of foods have close to or more than 12 grams of fiber in themselves (avocados, beans, legumes, etc). Even on my worst days I get above 20 grams, and I average about 30 grams a day.
I am a vegan, and I eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and primarily whole grains. There isn’t any trick to it. Just don’t eat as much meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products (you shouldn’t consume about more than 160 grams of protein a day in the first place), because meat and dairy have NO fiber. Eat more healthy plant foods like whole grains, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, beans, and legumes. Beans and legumes are full of healthy vegetable proteins and fiber.
Good luck everyone!
