I have been thinking and talking about this for years and I am ready to make it a reality. I know it will benefit both my mind and body.

wraiths82 is daydreaming about possibilities!
cartoon/shows on Saturday mornings. My friends in Sebastian got into it, and I envied them for it a bit. I’ve eyed some places doing it a few times a month here for $110 a month, may finally get up the nerve to check it out.
I used to do karate and I got up to purple belt. I want to take it up again and add Tai Kwon Do and stuff to my belt (hehe)
I was about nine when I did it so it might be worth relearning it as I’m fairly sure I’ve forgotten everything apart from that when you’re late you have to kneel at the door before your ‘sensei’ (sp?) allows you to come in!
Bigmighty is wasting time in the Net.
It is great exercise and it builds confidence and strength.
Take any one up, they are all good, but only by trying them will you know which is best for you.
I’ve tried Judo, Karate and Kung Fu. I’m in a mixed arts class now, which it is great ‘cause they teach a bit of everything.
Most classes will let you sit-in in a class or two for you to try it and find out if you like it.
It is as much about the technique as it is about the instructor and his/her style of teaching, so even if you try one style, different schools will have different approaches it to. But definetily try it.
i suck. i don’t have the discipline right now to do this, and i guess i’m too much of a stress case to stick with the tai chi and practice as is necessary! maybe when i’m older, touring the world in my shiny RV…
dudes—tai chi is freakin’ hard! i can’t see myself ever being adept enough to be able to use this stuff for self-defense. i can barely do the first two forms! but it’s a good challenge, and even though i feel like a big clumsy dork when Sifu comes over and corrects me a jillion times during class, i’m going to stick with it.
i had my first tai chi class yesterday—and i’m so glad i signed up! it’s really challenging, even though we did two “simple” stances. i went home with my thighs burning, which i guess means i was doing it kinda right. i’m looking forward to the next 9 sessions.
