go ultralight backpacking

I’ve been ultralight backpacking for a year or two now and I although I may carry some luxyury items in my pack in the future, there are aspects of going ultralight that I will continue pursuing for the rest of my backpacking life.

this past week i spent some time, and made my own ultralight backpack and tarp. it was alot of fun, and i think i actually produced some pretty good stuff (and lightweight too!).
i already have ideas to improve on the backpack, and have plans to make a bug bivy… i guess making your own gear really is addictive.

p.s. i weighed all my gear, and without food or water my carried weight is around ten pounds after switching out my old tent and backpack, and that weight will hopefully only go down from here on out
