I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time! It was a very private thing for me, so the only ones present were two pastors, their wives and my neighbor (who is the one that performed my baptism).
I was Christened by the Catholic church when I was a baby. However, I’ve always felt that it should be a choice made by an individual capable of understanding FULLY what it means and why it’s being done….and babies have no clue.
I’m SO GLAD I did this!

I’m almost 30 and I’ve never been baptized. In fact, I’m a new Christian this year. I accepted Jesus as my savior in January. Maybe I will have my 7 year old daughter baptized when I do.

I want to be baptized and confirmed next Easter!
I was baptized on January 27, 2008 as part of the regular Sunday service. My family is not very religious but they’ve always supported my beliefs. My mom and her partner attended which made it even more special.
I was baptised at church on Sunday, during second service!! Everyone at church was really excited and happy for me!! I felt cleansed and exilerated at the same time, sort of like an adrenalin rush! I really like the lady who baptised me, she’s a yuth pastor at church. My whole family was there, including my grandma, who drove three hours to come. I’d been wanting to do this for like 10 years now, I’m really glad I finally got to do it. It was most definitely worth it!
Well, tomorrow is the big day!! I’m really excited, but a bit nervous at the same time. My grandma will be coming to watch me be baptised. My grandma lives like 3 hours away from us, so it’s a big deal that she is coming. Today, I’m volunteering for the easter carnival at the church.
I’m going to be baptized on Sunday, at my church! It’s going to be so fun! Everyone in the church knows I’m being baptized, and they’re all excited for me!

Though I have been a Christian since I was 9 or 10 years old, I didn’t get baptized until I was in graduate school. The wait was, in part, to keep my parents from freaking out. They’re not Christians. They saw how serious I was about attending church and such. Once I was an adult and made an informed decision, I knew they would be alright with my decision.
Anyways, baptism is an outward sign of my acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior. Getting baptized is so worth it!

It was 20 years ago. It really gave me new life.

We are baptised soon after birth. Yet we accept this, or we don’t, as we mature. And for the families, this is a rite of passage for all.
