move out of alaska

Anchorage is at that weird population where it’s big enough to meet new people every day, but small enough that you run into people you know every day at fred meyers.

being 15 and in highschool, I’ve just about gone stir-crazy here. I mean sure, it’s gorgeous…but when you’re not a huge outdoors kinda person, it’s not really worth the cold and separation from the rest of the world.

All the big, better stores are in the lower 48, and when you order stuff, the shipping is extra cuz of all the trouble it takes to get it up here!

PFDs just don’t make me want to stay bad enough.

This is why I’ve decided to start looking at colleges in other states, and eventually move to another country; Canada or England?

any comments or suggestions for me?

The courts systems is a joke, the police force is akin to the Gestapo, and people’s priorities are backwards. I’ve had nothing but legal troubles brought on by mistakes constantly being made by the Department of Motor Vehicles. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on lawyers, I’ve been arrested several times over this, without even an apology…
This area is also a haven for thieves, child molesters, criminals, drunks and drug addicts. I’ve had two cars stolen, and I’ve been robbed at gunpoint, and these police did nothing about it… but I spent three nights in jail after being pulled over with a burned out taillight.

I don’t know why anyone would ever want to live here, there’s nothing to do EVER, and it’s cold as balls. I never want to make my kids grow up in such a crappy place like my parents made me. I want to experience more exciting places with lots more things to do. I want to live somewhere where things stay open past 10pm on the weekends.

Its beautiful and my home, but it is time to be more and do more and see more and live more! I just want more, and I cant find it here. Someday I will move away from Alaska and go searching for myself.

i’ve been here 30 years. housing is to expensive to realise my dream of owning my own home. saving to move is hard, because of the cost of living.
would like to live some place a little warmer, and with out the daylight all summer and dark all winter.
