Deni HI think I've done this.

I’ve become fairly comfortable with the way things work. 6 years ago

Deni HThree months are in the books, now.

Time flies when you’re having fun, as the saying goes. I cannot believe I’ve been here that long!

I’m excited because I started out with a certain number of service units in August. In September, I was 222% above that. In October, I was 166% above September.

I’m hoping to at least maintain October’s numbers this month and not take too much of a hit next month with all these holidays and vacation coming up. 6 years ago

Deni HThings are going fairly well...

I’m finding out more about the job. I spoke to someone at the corporate office who told me that she thinks I’ve been catching on well to this apartment management stuff. That is really cool to me. I’m continuing to build relationships with the people on my caseload, too…which is good. I’ve done a decent job in establishing boundaries while still fulfilling people’s needs, too. 6 years ago

Deni HLooking at my list...

the only thing I have left to do on this goal is to organize and clean my office. Well, that’s not entirely the case. And, yes, I’ve been cleaning and organizing over this period of time. It’s just not completely clean and completely organized. I do need to read four binders of information and go through a CD-ROM. Wish me luck…I hate reading boring stuff. 6 years ago

Deni HI had less than 4 hours of sleep...

and still handled today pretty well! Go me! :D Something must be getting better. 6 years ago

This goal can be checked off when:

  1. I get my office clean and organized for me to use.
  2. I have gone through my predecessor’s system and can get some meaning out of it.
  3. I can create some systems of my own to be more efficient.
  4. I get my caseload situation fully worked out.
  5. I understand what my exact job responsibilities are.
  6. -I am familiar with area resources. -
  7. I am able to come up with a system of keeping the files up to date in a timely fashion.
  8. I am able to do what is required of me fairly easily without a lot of undocumented overtime.6 years ago

FlashThis week has felt good

I’ve been here six or seven weeks, and this is the first week that my routine has felt comfortable and allowed me to get all my needs met. I’m settling into a routine that allows me to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, work out in the mornings, get to work by 8:45, work 8 hours until 5:15, and have some free time in the evenings. I plan to make lunches on the weekends—we’ll see how that plays out over time. 6 years ago

Deni HStress management is going to be vital...

for me with this job. So, I may have to create a separate goal for this element. 6 years ago

Deni HI like it so far...

but it’s been stressful trying to figure out things on my own with the one role of my new job. The other role I’m quite familiar with, and that’s what is keeping me fairly hopeful.

  6. I am familiar with area resources.
  7. I am able to come up with a system of keeping the files up to date in a timely fashion.
  8. I am able to do what is required of me fairly easily without a lot of undocumented overtime.

Along with this goal, since I literally live at my job I am going to have to come up with something to involve myself outside of my home and office in order to give myself some downtime. This has been the biggest challenge for me yet…feeling like I have my own life after hours. Lately the only time I’m not thinking about my job is when I’ve been away on the weekends (which isn’t practical financially for me to do all the time) or when I’m sleeping. This will not be a healthy situation long-term. 6 years ago
