Too easy 14 months ago

I’m set for almost the new year and I’m not really trying.
Ain’t it great when one has so much time on their hands?
I’m callin’ this one done because I know I’ll stay good for probably a year.

Luckily easy 14 months ago

In slacking on the other goals, I’ve managed to knock this one out of the park. I just finished my 6th book and I’m set for the next month. Now I better concentrate on my play writing. Got a timeline of what, yep, one month.

Continued success 15 months ago

The books have been very light reading and the library is nicely situated less than 3 blocks from my mother’s home. Probably the most blessed gift was her instilling reading into my life and I’m not that religious either. She read to me and raised me near a library.

Education 15 months ago

Two books a week, MIN, to further word base, and writing skills, not to mention stay entertained!

Water, water every where... 16 months ago

This one should be easy with the number of books around but the ones I am especially interested in are at the library and I won’t be able to get there for a few more days. Very upsetting. Reading some of Hunter S. Thompson is not where I want to go right now. Or the book of knots.

reading, but almost finished with a weird book called “In the Hand of Dante” and I will be reading Herman Wouk’s “Don’t Stop the Carnival.”

this week's books 2 years ago

Had to go short just to fit 2 into the schedule this week…Read “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams, of course excellent, classic. And Maya Angelou’s “Wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now” also very good.

week's books 2 years ago

“The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova (highly recommended, 640 some pages, but very well written—a modern day Dracula-centered book. Also, “Zarafa” by Michael Allen, a book about the first Giraffe in France. Good read.

this week's books 2 years ago

Read a “Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawkings, brilliant book and very well written. Incredibly complex concepts put down in (almost) layman’s terms. Also read “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain. Another great read, technically a re-read, but didn’t appreciate it in junior high.

I’m only averaging about 1 per week, so I’d like to up it to 2 per week. My average since I started this book reading bout (mid-March) is 2+ per week .. so there is that. There are weeks where I read 2 or 3 but the key for me is the need to be consistent with 2 books each week.

This week I started late so it’ll just be one – Murakami’s Kafka On The Shore, but also will try to finish Henry & June by Anais Nin over the weekend. It’s a start.
